The Mayo Clinic soon offered me a position as a Medical Social Worker and this experience afforded me witness to medicine at its best. I was honored to work with families who were confronting major medical challenges and to help poverty stricken individuals in foreign countries all over the globe to access grants so they could travel to the Mayo Clinic to receive treatment.
After the Mayo Clinic I began treating adolescents in private treatment centers who were confronting substance abuse issues and family of origin dynamics. I was fortunate to work for two brilliant clinicians who mentored me in strategic and solution-based family and couples therapy techniques that I continue to use in my private practice.
